TBYD # 9 done - well, one half!

I found 12 titles from The Adventures of Caliph Haroun Al Sa’afti series by Goscinny and Tabary. All of them have been neatly republished by the Mumbai-based Euro Books. Someone called SKot -- who has this lovely site called Iznogoud World -- read my post (here it is: TYBD # 9) and alerted me about a year ago saying that Iznogoud books have been out of print since 1980 and that Amazon had two titles and that Eurobooks was going to publish all of them...and here they are finally. Can't wait to devour them. BTW: None of these titles were available in English before.

Oh fish!

From AmuseMints
Bet they made the Trout Tin just because the copywriter had the right line. Guess cheap shots work the best!! From a company called AmuseMints in Denver, USA. Sick, right? But drop dead funny.

More bang for the buck

Starbucks mints
These are really strong mints, just like we used to get when we were kids. Except that the packaging is super slick and the positioning is something we could not have imagined 25 years ago. Marketing is not about the product but what you make of it.

Absolutely No Animal Products

Nice box of coffee pastilles
Fair Trade Coffee pastilles with no animal products! Nice positioning for a mint. But, as always is with mints, the box is classic art. Incidentally, this is the first mint brand I've seen that says "pure Vermont spring water" under "Ingredients". Tells you where we are headed by way of obsessions. Then again, who am I to pick on obsessions :-)

First City Ride - Tour de Urban Bangalore

It was perhaps the worst ride we have ever done: noisy, polluted, tense and somehow I felt silly doing it. Here's the GPS map: http://www.mapmyride.com/route/in/bangalore/857125284738251348 -- just avoid this one! But the picture from the ride, shot at Cubbon Park, looks deceptively nice.

Kiran is King!

That's Kiran Karkera on his recumbent bike. He built it at home. Incredible, isn't it?

Kiran is quite an outdoor person and if you visit his blog, you'll discover how much he is into cycling. Kiran came along with Vijay and his trike some weeks ago to Ozone and everyone had a ball riding their bikes. Last week Kiran was covered by Deccan Herald but I can't find that link. But I found the one for Arjun Jois, who (much before my turn) found Shangri La. It's a story worth reading. Kiran's picture is by Shreelesh Kumar.
